Blanefield Thistle F.C.

Blanefield Thistle F.C. was formed in 1947 and has played in the Forth and Endrick League since that time.
Home games are played at the King George V playing field in the village.
The season begins in mid April and finishes around mid September. Games are primarily played on Saturday and Tuesday nights and some Sunday afternoons.
Apart from the league there are several cup competitions to be played for. The Association currently has 12 teams: Blanefield, Killearn, Balfron, Drymen, Gartocharn, Aberfoyle, Fintry, Thornhill, Deanston, Gargunnock, Kippen and Buchlyvie. Blanefield has been one of the most successful teams over the years, particularly in the 1980s and 90s.

Due to players' work commitments, social events and holidays the Club are always looking for new players to help increase the size of squad. Pre season training and friendly matches usually begin early March. Anyone interested in playing or helping out should contact Craig Dunn on 01360771512 or 07920584604.
