Past Times Coasters

Sets of attractive drinks mats featuring local scenes from times gone by are now on sale.
Each set of coasters contains six scenes, all of which appeared in the Strathblane & Blanefield Now & Then book. They are:
* Strathblane Church as it appeared in 1897
* The Village Club
* Daniel and Mary Muir as newly-weds in 1911 standing proudly outside their house in
* Glasgow Road
* Blanefield Printworks in the 1880s
* The last passenger train to stop at Blanefield Station (in 1958)
* An old postcard of the Gowkstane.

Each set comes boxed with a free leaflet by Now & Then author Anne Johnstone, explaining the historical background of the scenes in the photographs. Proceeds will go towards future local history projects in the area.
